Christmas Holiday Schedule of Events at TCM

The Contemporary Museum’s schedule of Christmas programs and special offers include Expression Sessions, TCM Contemporary Cash membership program, military family outreach, and docent-guided tours. Most programs are free with museum entry and feature artists and special guest art educators.

Holiday Hours:

The Contemporary Museum galleries at Makiki Heights and First Hawaiian Center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. Public programs are as follows:

Special Two-Part Holiday Expression Session:

Part One: Saturday, November 7, 10:30-12 noon; and Part Two: Saturday, December 5, 10:30-12 noon; Reservations required: (808) 235-5230; Supply Fee: $12 each session ($7 for TCM Members);

Holiday cheer and starts right here on Saturday, November 7, with the making of magical Christmas trees and ornaments in a two-part Expression Session program. Art educator, Cheri Keefer, teaches children how to sculpt trees and ornaments out of clay on November 7. Then the work is dried and kiln fired. The children return on December 5 to paint and decorate their holiday trees and ornaments. Call (808) 237-5230 for reservations, or e-mail education@tcmhi.org.

SPECIAL OFFERS:

Military Family Outreach at TCM – Free Entry for Military – sponsored in part by BAE Systems & BOUTIKI

This special outreach program honors the sacrifices and service of our retired, reserve and active duty military members and their families. With military ID, military members and their families will be admitted free of charge throughout the year. This program is ongoing throughout 2009. This outreach is made possible by support from BAE Systems, the premier global defense, security, and aerospace company, and BOUTIKI, a not-for-profit, volunteer-run gift shop located on the Pearl Harbor Navy Base.

TCM Membership Special Offer – November 1-December 24:

Purchase a new TCM membership for your family, or a gift membership for someone you love, between November 1 and December 24 and receive $5 in Contemporary Cash. Contemporary Cash can be used just like real money towards purchases in the TCM Shop, TCM Café or for additional memberships. To take advantage of this special offer, call TCM Membership Coordinator Rujunko Pugh at (808) 237-5219, or log onto www.tcmhi.org/memberships for more information.
