Daily Docent Tours (MH)
Tue.-Sun., 1:30pm - Docent tours are conducted at 1:30pm every day the museum is open, and on our free day every Third Thursday, there is an additional tour at 11am. No reservations necessary. Free to members and visitors that have purchased one-day memberships.

Gallery Talk and Exhibition Tour at TCM at FHC
Third Thursdays: Noon - 12:45pm, Free - When exhibitions are on view
TCM exhibitions and tours at FHC are always free to the public and feature Hawaii's own regional artists. These lunch-hour docent-guided tours are presented on the third Thursday of every month, when exhibitions are on view. Meet in the bank lobby at noon. No advance reservations are necessary. TCM members enjoy validated parking in the FHC parking garage.

First Fridays at TCM at FHC
Enjoy Hawaii's popular Chinatown art walk-about on the first Friday of every month. TCM at First Hawaiian Center is open from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. on these nights, when exhibitions are on view. Special programs and artist’s talks, beginning at 7:30 p.m., are designed to enhance your understanding of the contemporary art on view. Light refreshments are served and TCM members enjoy validated parking in the FHC parking garage. (TCM does not participate on First Fridays when the gallery is undergoing reinstallation.)

Nu'umealani Garden Tours (MH)
Enjoy a docent-guided tour of TCM's spectacular "heavenly terraces" first created by the Rev. K. H. Inagaki between 1928 and 1941. The garden won the American Society of Landscape Architects prestigious Millennium Medallion for preservation in 2000, under the careful care of tropical plant expert Leland Miyano. Stroll the gardens, learn about the plants, and enjoy the views! By Advance Reservation Only, so please call to RSVP: (808) 237-5217; Free with One-Day Membership Pass.

SEPTEMBER

September 3 First Friday – FHC, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Join exhibiting artists Jacqueline Rush Lee and Madeleine Soder (umlaut over the “o”) as she talks about his work in the current exhibition at 7:30p.m. No reservations necessary. Free and open to the public. Validated parking is provided.

September 4 10:30 a.m. -12 p.m. KID’S CUISINE REIGNS SUPREME:
The Art of Fantastic Fake Foods

Make creative concoctions out of unexpected ingredients such as weeds, shaving cream, hand lotion, chalk, paint, dirt and many other mystery ingredients with Rose Sheldon (age 10) and Anna Bunn (age 9), the owners of Nature Bakery and Restaurant!  Kids will have the opportunity to “play Nature Bakery”  along with Anna and Rose and create their own little dishes that look good enough to eat.

When they return for part two, the kids will glaze their pieces and work will be raku-fired on site. While they wait, kids will have their hand at building gingerbread houses provided by the TCM café.
