Sale and Bidding Process: The Night of ConTempo
Art Sale:
The art will be available for purchase on a “first-come-first-served”
basis. Immediate payment is required—“holds” are
not permitted. In the event of a dispute, the Museum Director or her
designated representative will determine the prevailing purchaser.
Items purchased become the property of the successful bidder upon
checkout and payment in full.
A Sale sheet will be displayed with each item. A TCM Representative
will assist you in making your purchase. Upon your confirmed intent
to purchase, the TCM Representative will mark the Sale sheet appropriately
and request your Name, Table Number, and other pertinent information.
You can then continue to enjoy the event. A processed Sales Slip will
be delivered to you during dinner. Beginning at 11pm, this processed
sales slip may be presented at the Cashier’s Station, so that
you can take home your artwork.
Silent Auction of Wine and Beyond:
A bid sheet will be displayed with each item. Bids can be entered
by legibly writing your name, bidder number (this will be provided
to you upon check-in), table number, telephone number and correct
bid increment on bid sheet. Please note and follow starting bids and
minimum increments. You may bid on any item in any silent auction
until the auction closes. The highest valid bid at closing is the
winning bid. In the event of a dispute, the Museum Director or her
designated representative will determine the prevailing bidder. At
closing time, a silent auction attendant will circle the winning bid
on each form and collect the forms. Please check the winner_s board
located behind the cashier_s desk to find out if you are the highest
bidder. All items must be paid for in full and removed the evening
of April 21. If size or quantity prevents removal, arrangements must
be made the night of the event for prompt removal.
Live Auction:
A TCM representative will conduct the live portion of the auction.
Bids can be made by holding up your bidder number card. The auctioneer
will verbally recognize your bid and bidder number. You may bid on
the live auction items until the live auction closes. The highest
valid bid at closing is the winning bid and will be announced by the
TCM auctioneer. All items must be paid for in full and removed the
evening of April 21. If size or quantity prevents removal, arrangements
must be made the night of the event for prompt removal.
Auction Payment
The highest bidder on each item will be responsible for payment on
the evening of ConTempo by cash, credit card (MasterCard, VISA, Amex
or Discovercard), or check. All sales are subject to a 4.712% general
excise tax. Cashiers will be ready at 10:45 pm to handle payment for
your item(s). All sales are final with no exchanges or refunds.
QUICK PAY: By registering for QUICK PAY, you can avoid standing in
line to pay for and collect your purchases at the end of the night.
To sign up, provide your credit card number (VISA, MC, Amex or Discovercard)
and expiration date (month and year), or a signed blank check. These
will be kept on file for the evening, and at the close of the auction,
your purchases will be totaled and charged as directed. You may proceed
directly to the cashier to collect your purchases beginning at 11:00
pm. We will mail a statement of your purchases and charges to you
within seven days. If you do not purchase any items, your charge number
or check will be destroyed at the end of the evening.
