Linny Morris, a member of a kama‘aina family, grew up in Honolulu. She attended college in the islands and in Colorado before moving on to the Parsons School of Design in New York City. She began a business as a commercial photographer, doing fashion work as well as architectural and garden photography, which she considers her specialty. She eventually relocated to Los Angeles and ultimately returned to the islands, where she currently resides.

As a photographer, Morris understands the power of light. The light-transmitting and light-reflecting qualities of glass led her to begin a growing collection of Murano art glass, which she has used in several installations and photographic projects.
